Shopping List

I decided to go grocery shopping this evening. I went through some recipes for some ideas and then picked up a pad to make a shopping list. I went into the kitchen and picked up one of the many pads I have next to the microwave.

I opened the pad to find a clean page and I see Barbara's notes. A few names and numbers of some contacts she has for her consulting work, something about a "great source kit for grade 2" and a "grade 2 poetry package", a schedule for some training she was doing for Ulster County BOCES and a lot of other educator related things.

It's strange, but it made me kind of happy to come across it. It reminded me of how dedicated Barbara was to her work. I am so proud of what she did in those 33+ years as an educator. Remind me to tell you about it sometime. Right now I have to make a shopping list and get some food in this house. or else we're going to starve.

EDIT: I must have needed a lot of shit because look how long the register receipt is.

NOTE: I put it against a 27" TV so you could get an idea how long it was.

Damn! I didn't even buy all the meat I needed and I spent over $200.00! I think I can eat out cheaper than cooking.

Take notice how much money I saved and that I even bought some healthy stuff like cole slaw (fresh), shrimp(easy-clean cause I'm lazy) and cat fish.

Just love that sea food!

Hi there, BT. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Very sorry to hear about your wife. I bet it is tough. Hope you're hanging in there.

BTW, have you ever been back to Vietnam?

No, not really interested in going.

Ah, Tony, sweetheart, you know that I love hearing about Barbara. Can't wait for the teacher stories!

And, is it just me, or every time you take a picture of your television screen is there some kind of porn on it? :)

OK now what movie was on the tube when you taped this receipt there? Interesting.

1st thing i noticed... the porn behind the tape. You could have at least taped it to the side of the screen so as not to block the view. sheesh..quit teasing us!! And that IS a long tape. But you said "SOME healthy stuff". I noticed you tried to hide all the Campbell's soups and Stouffer's micro-meals from us. Tsk Tsk.

Thanks Wenchy, that's nice to know.

Candi, Salmon? Sure. I'll that from the fish market instead of the super market for you. How do you want it cooked?

Sis B, 33 years of teaching will provide a lot of stories. TV always on porn? Of course not. Monday is sitcom night, so unless they are in rerun, Mondays it's on channel 2 until 10 pm.

Trojan, I'm not sure what was on. Might have been '7 Lives Xposed II-10: World War Three', but who knows? ;-)

Betcha, well I did say "some" healthy stuff, I didn't say all healthy stuff. The Campbell's soups are for sauces (easier that way) and the Stouffer's is mostly for my son when he gets home late. He normally works until 10PM. I also eat it sometimes when I don't feel like cooking or going out.

Dang, your cupboards were really bare! Glad you got some food! We just ate the last can of corn so I'm gonna have to make a big run to the grocery store. Yuck.

Chickie, one would think, but I can't fit anything else in the pantry or the lazy susan, so I can't figure out how come there was nothing to eat.

Roxi, You know I was thinking of you when I bought it. I'm making it to put on the pulled pork sandwiches I'm making later this week and your invited for dinner. I think I'm making it Thursday.

Love the porn in the background of the reciept pic!

Santa put porn in my stocking ;).

I love porn!

Glad to see that you are cooking and eating healthy. Being a bachelor is not a healthy lifestyle sometimes. Beer, porn and takeout...oh wait, that is my lifestyle too. Ha!

BTExpress said...

Libby, that goes along with the drawer of your, uh, toys I guess. ;-)

Blonde, porn is the closest I've come sex in years. I got tired of eating out so I decided to get back into cooking. Still drink and watch porn, but not so much takeout anymore.

I lost my daddy three years ago. No it wasn't sudden, but still it felt that way when he went.
One day about a year after he was gone, I found a hankerchief of his in a ziplock bag. I opened it and it smelled like him. OMG! I went weak in the knees.
Don't know where I got it, why I have it. Don't know.
But those unexpected moments are so precious. Sometimes we just need the boost to keep on trudging on.
Good stuff on here.
I'll be back.
