Cleaning Lady Troubles

My cleaning lady never showed up today. She didn't even call to let me know she wouldn't be coming. This is the second time she didn't show up or call. I called her and left a message on her answering machine asking her what happened. I reminded her in the message that this happened before. I also reminded her that she is supposed to call if she isn't going to show up. We discussed this the last time.

She called back about 5 minutes later. The poor thing had migraines so bad that she was admitted to the hospital. When she was released, she felt too poorly to call me.

I wasn't buying a minute of it as an excuse not to call.

Sure she could have had a sever migraine and even have been admitted to a hospital for it. BULL SHIT! Poor thing. But WFT? She couldn't find 1 minute to call me an when she got home to let me know she was going to stand me up?

I am normally very nice when I talk to her, but this time I was very stern. Not angry sounding, just stern.

The holiday is coming up and she stands me up! This better not happen again or it's curtains for her. I don't care how good she is. I'll get someone else to clean my house for $20 and hour. Anyone want the job? You just show up every two weeks for four hours and clean my place. It will be the easiest $80 you'll ever make.

I used to clean houses for a living. I cannot imagine standing up one of m customers especially before a holiday. She should have called you or had someone call for her. Hell, she should have found someone else to clean for you. That's her job.

Good help is hard to find.

What's with all the folks not taking their jobs seriously, remaining professional, and just being considerate humans??

Is it hard to find a replacement and just be done with the unprofessionalism? She'll probably be worse by Xmas time. :)

If you'd like to cover my bi-weekly flight, I'll come over and help out. ;)

i totally understand your position. absolutely i do. at the same time as a migraine sufferer i can also attest to the fact that i get really fuzzy headed and forgetful with a bad one. that being said she ought to have someone who has her schedule and can make her calls for her if she gets knocked out.

and damn, if i lived close enough i'd come do your cleaning!

I would've fired her ass after the first time! No show, no call, no job... that's my motto.

I had an employee who suffered from terrible migraines as a result of a bad car accident. She had them often, and she would always call and let us know she needed to take her pills and she'd be in to work as soon as she could drive.

Not to stand up for her Tony but I've been SOOOOO sick with them that I've gone to the ER after being in bed for 3 days. They are that debilitating and sometimes, in SEVERE cases, they will admit for signs of meningitis or other problems.

When you are that sick, everything is nothing. I didn't show up for work for 3 days. I had no clue either.

Sorry about the cleaning lady. And hopefully it wasn't just an excuse.

Now it's time to go and catch up on your blog and read about VEGAS BABY!!
