How was your weekend?

Mine was a good one. It was a three-day weekend, so I had an extra day with Lori.

Long weekends with my baby is a special treat.

Friday we got pizza for dinner like we always do.

We love pizza.

Saturday we ran a few errands and then went grocery shopping.

I love grocery shopping. Yea, I know that's weird, but humor me.

I made brats with sauerkraut for dinner. I added a little brown sugar and caraway seeds to give it a special touch.

Try it, you'll like it!

Sunday we went to our real life friends place for a BBQ. We had a great time and stayed longer than we should have. The girls got drunk and started........

Wait! I promised I wouldn't tell and said too much already.

Monday we stayed home all day lounging in bed until it was time for me to start dinner at 1:00. I made slow cooked baby back ribs, so had to start it super early.

Hey, I'm a late sleeper, so 1:00 is super early to me.

I cleaned the ribs and even removed the membrane on the bone side.

The only great baby back rib is ones that have the membrane removed.

Then I made my own rub, rubbed it one real liberally and then let the ribs sit for a while so they would absorb the rub flavors.

Absorbed flavor it best.

When it was time to cook them, I turned on the oven.

I didn't want the ribs to dry out on the grill, so I baked them at 250 degrees for about three hours before I put them on the grill.

Next I put the ribs on the grill with indirect heat for another hour or so.

Sounds like I know what I'm doing, doesn't it? Thanks to Google, I did.

While I waited for the ribs to slow cook, I made cole slaw.

Thank you for the prepackaged shredded cabbage and Marie's dressing. Don't tell anyone, k?

Soon it was time to put the BBQ sauce on the ribs and finish cooking them.

Apply sauce liberally.

While the ribs browned, I made the corn on the cob. I love corn on the cob.

This time of year frozen corn is best. The fresh stuff is too small and even more tasteless.

Soon the ribs and corn was done and it was time to eat.

I was friggin starved by now.

We pigged out and enjoyed a great meal.

Damn, it was good!

Then Lori cleaned up.

You remember, I cook, she cleans up.

The cleaning was soon done and we retired to the bed chamber for debauchery and other naughty stuff.

And it was good.

We watched a movie too.

A horror for Lori and a sex one for me. Well, her too.

Then we cuddled and held each other tight until we fell asleep.

No, that was until I started sweating profusely and then Lori moved over.

All in all, except for the profuse sweating, a great weekend was had by all.

How was your weekend?

Sounds like a wonderful wonderful time. Oh how I wish I had someone who could cook like you do, that week-end sounds like heaven to me. *sigh* Lori is a lucky lucky girl (and you are too with her willing to clean up).

will you come do my grocery shopping. it's a chore i have grown to loathe entirely. between cooking for a vegetarian in a household of meatatarians, having 3 teenagers who will inhale 2 weeks of food in 48 hours, and having to budget so carefully....gah...i'd be glad to turn the duty over to someone else who wants to plan and cook meals for a while. i used to like cooking once upon a time....

ok, enough bitching...

sounds like you guys had a great weekend. ours was busy and fun and we finally had some beautiful weather which was WONDERFUL after such a bleak may.
