I Switched!

Yes, I switched. Today I switched from Cablevision (e.g., OpOnline) to Verison FiOS.

The tech that installed FiOS wasn't that knowledgeable about some of the more intricate details I needed to set up my email (e.g., POP & SMTP), but did the job well. He made a couple of calls to someone and gave me the info I needed.

I was also confused about how to get the promised internet speed, but after a few tries, I figured it out on their web site. Now my download and upload speeds are at least three times faster with FiOS than with cable. That's going to make it a lot easier to view the videos and pictures on those "educational" sites. ;-)

Now I just have to figure out were my favorite channels are on the TV. Finding the "educational" ;-) channels was easy. Now I just have to figure out what station carries my girl, the Charmed Ones. I love that show. :-)

Oh yea. I saved about $50 a month by switching and now have a multi room DVR to boot. The DVR is like TiVo and saves about 200 hours of programs that can be played from any TV.

Man, that's a lot of "educational" programs. :-P
