Let's start in the closet. I finally found one of my son's box cutters to use to slice the carpet.FYI: Brian is not a gang member, but the produce manger in the produce department of Stop & Shop, so we have a LARGE supply of box cutters.

I pealed back the carpet and low and behold, hard wood floors. Not one of those laminate floors, but real solid oak floors.
Pealed the carpet up, vacuumed the left over carpet bits and low and behold................FRIGGING OAK FLOOR!
OAK FLOORS ARE HOT HNT!

That is a pretty fancy floor you have there, and the view was nice as you were pulling up the carpet (thanks Lori for the pics!).

Tug - I'm going to. The whole house has real oak floors. Both bedrooms have carpet, so will pull that up first. Then have the floors sanded and refinished.

...i have those floors in my house too...but they's be cold to walk on in the winter! so i'll stick with my thick dark gray carpet...

But, if YOU put the purple carpet down, then YOU covered up the pretty oak floors, right? ;) ... What'd ya do, forget they were under there?
That's awesome -- sooooo wish I could pull up my outdated carpet and find treasure like that instead of the plywood subfloor that I know is under there. Erf.
