My Home Away From Home in 1968

As follow up to the post of me in my US Army uniform, I thought I would post a few shots of my military life before that one.

This is BTExpress the draftee. I was drafted on May 6, 1968 at 19 1/2 years old.

Here I was in basic training at Fort Jackson South Carolina. I'm just a bald as my mom used to keep me growing up. I hated these kind of haircuts. Come on, you know why, look at those fucking ears sticking out.

After stops in Oakland California, Hawaii, Midway Island and the Philippines, I landed South Vietnam and on October 6, 1968. The next day, I was in the 25th Infantry Division at Cu Chi. A week at Cu Chi, a week or so at Fire Support Base Pershing and then to Fire Support Base Stewart or Stuart depending who you talk to, right outside Trang Bang (Just down the road a piece from Cu Chi on the map).

This is a nice shot of Cu Chi. There were so many trucks driving around that place all the time, that the smell of diesel fuel permeated the air. To this day, whenever I smell diesel fuel, it brings me right back to Cu Chi.

This is a shot of FSB Stewart. It was just a patch of sand surrounded by razor wire and mines.

This is 12 inch artillery cannon(?) on tracks like a tank. There were two of these monsters right in the middle of the FSB. When they fired, the ground shook.

I was an infantryman. We are the guys that got to walk around waiting for someone to shoot at them.

Sometimes we didn't have to walk. Sometimes we got to rides in helicopters. My favorite spot was right behind the pilot sitting on the floor with my feet hanging out the door.

The guys in this shot are holding their rifles the wrong way. They are suppose to hold them with the barrel pointing down. That's in case one accidentally goes off. They could a shoot the engine and in turn shoot down the helicopter.

I was wounded on November 6, 1968 just a month and two days after arriving in South Vietnam, but that's another story.

Picture credits: None of these shots are mine, but they are pictures of what I described in the captions. I found them by searching the internet over the last several years. I have no idea where I got them, so I can't give proper credit to the owners.

Half-Nekkid Thursday

I'm not really in a festive mood so the best I could come with is an old army picture of me from early 1969.

Too bad I voted tonight

After work today, I finished dinner and then went up to vote. It's not a big election today, but I feel it an obligation to do so, even if it's not one of the "BIG ONES" held every four years.

What a mistake that was!

I walk in to the same polling place I have walked in, off and on, for 28 years. I walk up the usual table, in the usual room and give the lady my name. I spell it as I always do, "C-*-*-*-*-K, Anthony".

She thumbs through the book for my name and gets to the "C****k" page. There they are as big as life, Anthony, Barbara and Brian, all in order, just like they always are. We all vote regularly in our household. Our signatures are what I noticed most, well Barbara's actually. Her signature was just as I remembered before her brain was damaged from the cancer a few years ago and her handwriting suffered. I was still clear, crisp and neat as the day she first signed the book. Barbara had beautiful hand writing. It was a combination of printing and script and very much different than most of us who really put little effort into penmanship and write like crap.

The lady at the table looks the page over and exchanges the relevant information. "Sign here." She points to the spot in the book where I'm suppose to sign and I sign my name. She looks it over.

"Thank you."

"Excuse me", I say. "Barbara C****k" I point to her name in the book. She passed away three weeks ago."

In unison, the ladies say, "Oh, I'm so sorry."

"Thank you."

"We'll remove her name."

OUCH! It hits me, Barbara is being removed from the voter roles.

"Damn!" I think, it's the beginning of the process to get her out of the "SYSTEM!" I know that's what's done, we all get purged from the "SYSTEM!" eventually, but it's not easy. It's not easy to deal with it when you loose someone so special to you.

Every time, almost everyday, I turn around and have to deal with another case of removing her from the "SYSTEM!" Everyday it's the snail mail and emails that keep coming in her name. I also still have to deal with the cemetery, motor vehicles, the Veterans Administration, the funeral home's insurance company as they fucked up something, but not with her thank God, the banks, credit card companies, investment companies, NY State Retirement system and whatever else that pops up I haven't thought of.

"Sir.......Sir", the lady at the tables calls.

"Yes."

"What date did she...blah....blah....?"

I choose not to hear the rest of what she said, but I knew what she said.

"October 17th", I say.

"Thank you. Again I'm sorry."

I go into the booth, pull the handle to the right, pull a bunch of levers and push the handle back to the left. The curtain opens and I walk out of the booth.

At this point I would always see Barbara standing there waiting, as I always let her vote first. We would always smile at each other and then I'd follow her out the door. This is the way it has been for the 28 years we lived in Sayville, but not this time. This time she wasn't there waiting for me with a smile, this time I walked alone back to my car alone and this time I drove home alone.

When I got home this time, I got the mail, opened the door and went inside to a very quite and very empty house, Brian's at work this evening. I look the mail over, walk over to the trash and throw away the junk mail in her name as I do everyday now. It's just that this day, it was a little harder to do. You see, she is being removed from the "SYSTEM!" and this is just one more thing I have to do to get that done, throw away mail in her name.

Now here I sit at the computer as I do everyday, except this day, the house seems more empty and my life seems more empty. Today I feel more alone.

I miss Barbara very much.

I have another story for you

Did you ever have a sequence of events happen that leads to something that if one of those events hadn’t happened, everything would have turned out completely different?

Sure you have, we all have.

Do you think these things were just a series of coincidences, or do you believe they happened because that something was meant to be? You know fate or destiny? Before you answer, let me tell you a story and then I’ll ask you again.

Last week I got a letter from our church letting me know that they were celebrating All Saints Day and that during the service they remember the church members that have passed away during the last year, Barbara being one of them. I kept changing my mind about going all week, but the more I thought about it, the more I thought it was a good idea. Even though it would make me sad, I thought it would be a good way to honor Barbara and to let her know I’m thinking about her. Brian couldn’t come because he had to be at work a 4:00.

It was a really nice service. The pastor was excellent as usual, and we received Communion. I like that. I even got a little misty-eyed a few times, which I knew would happen. After the service, I hung around for a while to talk to some people I know. They asked me to go to dinner with them, but I didn’t accept the invitation. It would have been nice to chat some more, but I don’t know, I just decided not to go.

The first place I tried for dinner was packed. I decided not to keep trying other places because it was getting late and I was hungry, but to go to a little southern place near me called Sweet Magnolias. It’s never very crowded so I knew I could get a seat. I got a seat at the end of the bar nearer to door. It has really good food so I don’t know why it’s never crowded. I had trout stuffed with breading, shrimp and crayfish; it came with rice and steamed broccoli. Yummy! Did I tell you I like seafood?

Just when I was finished eating, the staff started removing some tables right by me, next to the bar. I knew what that meant, live music. I looked at the chalkboard and saw that some band named ‘Jack’s Waterfall’ was playing. A short time later, I saw the band start carrying in their equipment so I decided to stick around for a little while. I’d never heard of them, but I had a perfect seat, so figured why not stay for a few minutes, have another beer and see if they were any good.

About 45 minutes later, 9:30 or so, the palace is packed, which is always a good sign if you’re looking for good music. They started playing and are excellent! They played all kinds of different stuff; Pop, Blues, Jazz, Folk, Bluegrass, Gospel and even some African music. I really enjoyed it. They did a great rendition of ‘Sweet Georgia Brown’. Now one set turned into two and then two turned into three. I enjoyed it so much I closed the joint. I had a great time. I even bought their CD, it’s called “Calling All Angels”.

I got home and put the CD on. Here is the list of the songs on the CD; Vision, The Hero, The Sweetest Music, Spirit Voices, Believe, Song of Hope, Vuelve, I Am No Prisoner and Calling All Angels. It was very enjoyable, so much so that I put the CD on repeat, turned out the lights and sat back in a large comfortable chair I have and fell asleep after it had played through twice. I woke up when Brian got in and went to bed.

This morning I’m curious to learn something about the group, so look I them up on Google. It seems that Jack Licitra got into music many years ago as a way to help him deal with his father’s death. “The loss of his father at the age of 14 played a major a role in that. Writing songs to help his family through these tough times, Jack began to realize the healing power of music at a young age. It has always been natural for him to express through song and voice some of his deepest emotions in a creative and refined manner. He believes "Music or any of the arts are universal. A shared experience or communication that brings people closer together. It gets them in touch with things they were feeling, but never actually tried to express."

He took the name Jack’s Waterfall “… to reflect a vision of an ever-changing ensemble that would enable me to pursue a variety of creative forms. ...music has transformative qualities – it can facilitate healing, promote unity and certainly express powerful feelings. In my own life it has helped me deal with loss and the passage of time. I believe that the magic of art is its ability to transform the everyday into something greater, something universal, something shared.”

Interesting, huh?

You know, I’m very glad I went there last night because that could be a turning point for me right now. I loved the feelings I got listening to their music. I didn’t talk to anyone really, so to me, it was all about the music. Next week they are playing a charity thing a few towns over at the Brickhouse Brewery. I think I’m going to go. What’s not to like? Great music that makes me feel good and fresh brewed beer.

Okay, let's examine what happened.
1. I went to church even though I hadn't been in 4 or 5 years and I knew it would make me sad. I'm tired of being sad.
2. I got delayed leaving because I was talking to friends.
3. Didn't go with them to dinner, even though I would have liked to.
4. Where I wanted to go for dinner had no room.
5. I decided to skip other places I would have preferred to go, to go to Sweet Magnolias.
6. I got a good seat at the end of the bar where I could see what was going on, i.e., tables being moved, band setting up, etc.
7. ‘Jack’s Waterfall’ was playing and I buy their CD with some very relevant music. You'd know exactly what I was talking about if you heard the words. The titles make the point though.

Now, let me ask you. Was that just a series of coincidences or was that meant to be? I think it was meant to be. What do you think?

P.S.
I forgot a few things.
8. Three lovely young ladies, mid 30's I'd say, sat around the corner from me at the bar. They were just to the left of my view of the band.
9. The one that faced me had on a low cut top, showing a lot of cleavage. Did I ever tell you I like boobs?
10. Her friend that sat with her back to me, had on low rider jeans that kept "riding low" and revealing a pretty blue thong.
11. The barmaid also had on a low cut top so everytime she bent over to get a bottle of beer, the cleavage view was excellent.
12. I made it home safe and sound.

Just more reasons to drive my point home. ;-)

What an exciting birthday I've had so far.

I had off today. My boss gives us off, with pay, for our birthday. Woo, woo!!!

So what did I do for excitement? Lets see.......

1. I woke up early because I couldn't fucking sleep in, so I got up at 7:30.
That sucked big time. I always get to bed late and get up early, and was looking forward to sleeping till the afternoon.

2. I masturbated.
So what else is new. I haven't had sex in about three years.

3. Drank coffee.
Did that while I was masturbating.

4. Posted on my blog.
So what else is new. I do that most days.

5. Talked to my favorite Mod from Political Crossfire Forum, TGND. It's a political forum I help moderate. Bet you didn't know I did that, did you? She called me for my birthday. I thought that was nice of her, don't you?

6. Went out to eat.
Brian worked late so I went out by myself. I had, three Bass Ale pints, a salad with Thousand Island dressing, fried shrimp. Brian got home about 30 second after I pulled in from dinner.

7. Brian gave me a birthday card filled with Lotto tickets for a present.
I love those things, so it was a great present. I never want anything special for a present, because I have everything I want, so I'm a tough one to buy for. But Lotto tickets are always a good choice. BTW, I won $32, not bad, heh?

8. I had a "few" drinks after I got home. (still at it) Hey, it's my birthday so I'm allowed.
Having my favorite, gin & tonic with a dash of lime juice. I don't bother with the real limes anymore. They will probably go bad before I finish them. Now I buy the Rose's Lime Juice. It's gives me the lime taste I like.

9. I've peed a lot today, but after all that drinking WTF do you expect.
If you'll excuse me, I think I'll pee. Be right back.

BTExpress has dropped a few notches in Japan

BTExpress is down to #4 on Google Japan. A few months a go I was up to #1. Gotta work on that.

But the bright side is I'm up to #3 on Google USA with a search for "coughing and flem with 3 year olds".

Looks like I have to make more posts with bodily functions or illness as a theme. I'm kind of leaning toward diarrhea or vomiting. What do you think?

Half Nekkid-Thursday Boating Blow Job Fun

Yes, this HNT post has to do with blow jobs. The lovely young lady to the left, Jamie, gave me several blow jobs, all with the okay of Barbara, so don't get your shorts in a knot. This probably sounds a little strange, so let me start from the beginning. Please bare with me as I tend to go on and on.

You all know I was a boater since 1994 and that our little family had a wonderful time doing it. Well, today's HNT entry is about the summer we all did blow jobs. We did so many that summer I can't even begin to count how many. Every weekend we all got together, and blow jobs were always on the menu.

The first time I ever had a blow job from someone other than Barbara, was near the end of July that years. I was walking up to the bar at the Montauk Yacht Club to meet up with our friends when I came across my brother in law Wayne, his wife and Barbara's sister Kathy and a couple of friends.

Wayne asks me, "Hey Tony, want a blow job?"

Me, never being one to turn down a blow job, even it was being offered by Wayne, of course said, "Sure!"

"Come on", he said. "Let's go to the bar. I'll get the barmaid to give you one."

We walk over to the bar, it's outside under an awning right next to a pool. It's not that busy, since it's the middle of the afternoon. There are a few couple around the circular bar.

Wayne says to the barmaid, pretty loud mind you, "Give my friend here a blow job."

You should have seen the heads turn and the looks on their face. Hell, you should have seen the look on my face as far as that goes.

She says, "Sure, with or without whipped cream?"

Okay, we have to stop here and savior the moment. The hot barmaid, saying she'll give me a blow job. OMFG! WTF is going on here? I'm guessing the girl is not actually going to give me a blow job, but then again......who knows what Wayne has set up. I mean come on. He convinced the Montauk Point Golf Course starter that I was Governor Cuomo's brother so we could get a tee time right away, so I was not going to put anything past him.

(Note: that's a funny story you'll get a kick out of. Remind me to tell you about that. BTW, I answered to the name Tony Cuomo from then on.)

I say, "Whipped cream please."

(Hey, I got to be polite to a lady that's going to give me a blow job, right?)

She reaches down, grabs a shot glass, and proceeds to fill it with Bailey's Irish Cream, Kahlua and topped with whipped cream. Now the spell is broken. She makes more for the rest of the crowd.

I go to pick it up and Wayne says, "You can't use your hands. You have to pick it up with just your mouth and down it in one shot."

WTF, so I do what he instructs. Wmmmm, tasted pretty good. So we all did another round, and another, and another, and another, and another, and on and on.

In the middle of this, Barbara comes up to the bar looking for me.

"Where have you been?"

"Getting blow jobs from the barmaid."

(Mind you I'm drunk by now.)

Dirty look from Barbara.

"Give my wife a blow job too."

Strange looks and daggers shootong from Barbara's eyes.

Kathy calms her down and explains what is going on. At first she hesitates but then everyone talks her into trying one.

She follows the script, chugs it down in one swallow with just her mouth, and says, "I like it."

Cheers fill the bar area. You see, Barbara was quite a prude and things like downing blow jobs with just her mouth were not like her. But she caught on fast and had good time doing them.

That was the beginning of blow jobs for everyone, every weekend, for the rest of the summer. Here are a couple of pictures of my friends doing blow jobs. FYI, Wayne is the tall blond guy. They called him the "Blender King" for obvious reasons.

Take note of the blond in front. Her name is Jamie. Her husband Billy is right behind her. Boy do I have a great story about the night Jamie and Marian, Mike's wife, were tongue kissing on my lap. Remind me to tell it to you some day.

The two guys on the ends didn't do blow jobs so they missed the fun that summer, fucking party poopers. You know, come to think of it, we did blow jobs for a few years after that.

If you've made it this far, you are to be congratulated. And if your wondering what Half Nekkid-Thursday is all about, click on the lady in red's boobs over on the right. It provides you instructions for joining in the fun.

Yeah, yeah, I'm not in any of the shots according to the HNT rules, but I thought you wouldn't mind since Jamie was in them. Damn, she had really nice boobs.

OMG! I am so doing this!

How We Met

Barbara and I met Wednesday night, September 2, 1970 at the OBI North, a disco, in Smithtown NY. The OBI was dead that night. I was talking to Danny Quail, a friend of my older brother, Rod, when Barbara's best friend and sorority roommate, Jane Barbato walked up to talk to Danny. While they were chatting, Barbara and I started talking. We hit it off pretty well and hung out together for the rest of the evening. When we were about to leave, Barbara asked me if I wanted to come back to her folks beach house in Wading River to hang out some more. Of course I did.

When we got to the house, I met her mom, her dad was in bed. Barbara and I sat on the couch talking until about 4:00 am.

At one point, I looked over at the stairs going up to the second floor, and I see her three younger sisters peeking, trying to see what we were doing. Of course Barbara got up and tried to chased them back to bed, but they wouldn't go. Barbara's mom came out to see what was going on, and did the chasing instead.

I got Barbara's phone number before I left and told her I'd call her. I finally called her after three days of procrastinating. I kept thinking, "Should I call her?" "Did she like me?" "What if she doesn't want to talk to me?", stuff like that. Her mom told me on the way to the cemetery, that Barbara was doing pretty much the same thing at their house. Until I called, she walked around almost the whole time saying things like, "Why doesn't he call?" "I thought he liked me." "Do you think he'll call?", all that sort of stuff. Her mom just kept telling her, "Barbara, if it's meant to be, he'll call. If he doesn't call, then it wasn't."

I finally got up the courage call three days later. It was after dinner and I got permission to make the call in my mom and dad's room where I could have some privacy. We weren't allowed in there without permission. One of Barbara's younger sisters, I think it was Debbie, answered the phone and it went, from what I can remember, like this.

"Is Barbara there?"

"Who's calling please?"

"This is Tony."

"Hold on please."

She puts down the phone and as she's walking, maybe running, to get Barbara, I could her her saying, "It's him! It's him! He called! He called! Where's Barbara?" Someone says, "I'll get her. "BARBARA! HE'S ON THE PHONE! HURRY!"

I just laughed.

I could hear Barbara say something in the distance, but couldn't make it out. She picked up the phone very calmly and we talked for I don't remember how long, but quite a while. I asked her out on a date that night to go horseback riding. Yeah, I know it's kind of strange for a first date, but I liked horse back riding. She said yes. I was very excited.

That is how it all began.

HERE'S A TOAST TO THE WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!

Guess what I'm doing.

These shots were taken about 6-7 years ago at the 21st birthday party of the son of a friend of ours. My nephew, holding the funnel hose, and his friends, showed me this really cool trick of how to down a can of beer in like two swallows. You can't see Barbara in this shot, but she was standing off to the side just shaking her head, with that "WTF is he doing now" look. I had a blast that night. There quite a few of the kids from their high school graduating class at the party. They all gathered at one end of the patio for a group shot and insisted I get in it. They even made me an honorary member of their class. I was honored they thought I was cool enough to be included.

Damn, was I drunk that night.........................but I didn't puke. I never even get hangovers. ;-D

Half-Nekkid Thursday

This week’s "Half-Nekkid Thursday" post centers around our favorite thing to do during the summer, spend weekends at the Watch Hill marina on Fire Island.
The Atlantic Ocean is on the bottom and the great South Bay is on the top with Watch Hill nestled snuggly in between.

Late in 1993, Barbara and I decided to get a boat. We looked for one all fall, winter and spring, and in June 1994 we bought the BT Express, a 1986 Sea Ray Express Cruiser. (See picture at top of blog, that’s her.) Two cabins for sleeping, AC, heat, TV, VCR, microwave, 6.5 kW generator, stand up shower and more, pretty much a small home on the water. It was perfect for the four of us, Barbara, Brian, our dog Dallas and me. We spent practically every weekend, when we weren't traveling with the boat, on that boat at the Watch Hill marina on Fire Island. We did that from June 1994 until fall of 2002, the fall before Barbara became ill.

Since Barbara was an elementary school teacher, she spent a lot more time on it than I did because she had off every summer. Wednesday’s I would rush home from work, we would pack up the boat with supplies for the weekend and take it over to Watch Hill. I’d tie it up, hook up water and electric and then usually rush to catch the last ferry back to the Patchogue on the mainland. Barbara would spend an hour or so putting everything away and then enjoy a couple of days with other wives whose husband’s had done pretty much the same thing I did.

You can see Barbara is holding one of her famous Long Island Ice Teas in this shot.

I’d go to work on Thursday and Friday, and after work on Friday I would catch the ferry out of Patchogue back to Watch Hill where we’d spend the weekend. Sunday we would pack up, take the boat back to where we kept it near home, unload dirty laundry, etc., and wait until Wednesdays rolled around again to repeat the process again.

What a life that was. We were so blessed to be able to live this great life except for one thing, it got too hot sometimes. Lots of times we all bitched and moaned about how we wished the marina had a swimming pool. Yeah, I know we were right between the ocean and the Great South Bay, but wish we did. I forget exactly what year it was, but one day after I’d gotten back to Patchogue, I got this idea to check out small pools at the stores. I found a pool in Toys-R-Us that the sides blew up. It was an oval about 5 x 10, maybe a little bigger, and cost me $50. That was the best $50 I ever spent.

You should have seen the look on everyones face when I showed up with the pool on Friday. We spent Friday night laughing about it never dreaming how great it would to have it. The next day a bunch of us pitched in to rake and level the sand behind the dock, behind boat, set up the pool and blow up it up with a small vacuum cleaner someone had. We ran a couple of hoses to fill it up with water and then waited for happy hour, which could be anywhere from noon till 4:00 with our crowd of friends. (Barbara always made me wait until 4:00 for happy hour)

Most of us gathered around the pool sitting in chairs with our feet in the water. A few hopped in and just enjoyed sitting in the cool water. All of us drank, ate, cooled off in the water, then drank and and ate some more. Sunday, the pool was emptied and packed away until the following weekend. This was the way it went every weekend until the weather cooled off in the fall.

BTW, kids were banned from the pool. They track sand, splash, make excess noise and can be such a bother sometimes, so I banned them. My pool, my rules, fuck ‘em! That doesn’t make me a bad person does it?

This is how Barbara spent a great deal of her time on the weekends. Feet in the water chilling out.

Notice the mostly eaten tray of shrimp cocktail in lower right corner. Someone always brought the shrimp.

This one gives you a good shot at where the pool is located and the crowd gathered around the pool.

This shows a good view of the Watch Hill marina. My boat is the second from the right.

I threw this one in because I liked the way the ladies looked. It also gives you a view of the other end of the dock.

I went back to work today

It went pretty well, better than I expected actually. A lot of people that didn't come to the wake stopped me to give their condolences, which was nice.

Nobody bothered me or asked me to get involved in anything at all. Since I am the lone Quality "guy", that's saying something. I wonder what they are keeping from me?

I pretty much just reviewed and signed a few documents and took care of catching up on some computer work which took me the whole day.

A nice surprise was that my boss figured a way to keep me out of meetings, which was greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah, I also got hugs from several women, which was especially nice.

Thank you

Thank you all so very much for your expressions of sympathy at our loss of Barbara. Your kind words and outpouring of love here, and on Oz’s blog, have overwhelmed me, to say the least. It was the same way at the wake on Thursday and the funeral yesterday. Everyone was wonderful and had such nice things to say about Barbara, Brian and me. One of Barbara’s ex-colleagues and her husband drove down from Connecticut and one of Brian’s friends drove up from Delaware just to pay their respects. That really was a surprise.

It’s nice to know that we’ve touched so many lives in a good way.

DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!

I wake up this morning and see Brian come up stairs from the basement. He says, "Good morning." We hug each other like we always do when we haven't seen each other for a while.

He asks, "Have you been down in the basement lately?"

"No, why?"

"There's about 2 inches of water down there."?

I walk down the steps, look around and sure enough, angle deep water.

DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!

I called the fire department to get put on the list of people needing to be pumped out then go outside and to get the swimming pool cover pump. I start dragging the pump, hose and extension cord toward the back door. The extension cord gets tangled in a bush so I pull harder, rip a few branches out and get stung by a bee. Maybe it was a yellow jacket, but who cares, it hurts like a bitch!

DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!

I put the pump in the basement and plug it in, check that it's running and go outside to check for water coming out the hose. I wait..................wait some more......................"Uh, WTF, where's the water?"

I go back in the house and check the pump, and it's running. I know it works because 15 minutes earlier I could see it pumping water off the pool cover. I guess it can't pump the water up that far up hill, so to speak. The basement floor is about 5 feet below the yard level.

"Now WTF am I going to do?"

"I know! I'll suck the water up through the hose and if I get it started, maybe it will keep it going," I say to myself.

So outside I go, stretch the hose out, put the end in my mouth, spit out little dirt and start sucking. I suck for as long and as hard as I can, bend the hose, put my thumb over the end to keep the water from going back down and catch my breath.

Repeat...........repeat................repeat........................etc, etc, etc.

I spend about 5 minutes repeating this process and finally get a mouth full of dirty water. (Remember, the hose was pumping water off the pool cover earlier.) I toss the hose to the ground and SURPRISE, SURPRISE, I struck it rich! Water! I watch, I wait to see if it stops. No, it keeps pumping water. It looks like I'll get my basement pumped out after all.

It might take a week at the rate the pump works, but WFT am I going to do?

PS

I just came back in after talking to my neighbor. The hose is still pumping water but he has about 8 inches of water in his basement. It seems high tide is pushing water up through some cracks he has in the basement floor. Maybe I should consider myself lucky.

NO! I will still feel sorry for myself. You have no idea how much crap I have down there and how much I'm going to have to throw out.

DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!

Happy HNT!

Here are some shots of me as a little tyke. My mom always gave me a crew cut as I guess you could tell. We had no money, so she cut my hair.

Another thing, don't you just love the ears? My wife found them good for pulling me in close, if you get my drift.

Heheheh!!!!!

Barbara Update

My wife Barbara's disease has progressed to the next step. About a week ago, she started coughing. They prescribed a med that dries up secretions to reduce the amount of saliva she produces to help minimize the coughing. It helps. Today the nurse told me it seems she is starting to loose control of the muscles in her throat for swallowing and coughing up flem. This is normal for someone in her condition and just one more step in the progression of the disease.

This is a picture of her in 1998. Our 33rd wedding anniversary was July 29th.

I really find this hard to believe.

Ya, right! What President wouldn't? I know I would if it was me, so why are you surprised that Bush would do it? That's the way it is.

I really find this hard to believe.

Ya, right! What President wouldn't? I know I would if it was me, so why are you surprised that Bush would do it? That's the way it is.

What did I say?

I just read my post from yesterday. Holy shit, was I in some "feeling sorry for myself" mood. But todays another day and today I feel better.

I am swamped at work, and with my situation at home, it gets to me some times. I guess yesterday one of those days, one of those days for venting. Maybe that's why yesterday's post had to be written.

Let me give you a little background about my day to day life.

Almost my entire life is focused with just dealing with problems, at home and at work. At home, I have a terminally ill wife that is living on borrowed time. When they diagnosed her brain cancer, they gave her 6 months to a year to live, two years tops. Now it's been over 28 months. This occupies 99% of my time at home.

At work, pretty much 90% of what I do is dealing with problems. For lack of a better term, I am a one man Quality Assurance department in the company I work for. We manufacture high voltage power supplies and have a little over 100 employees. If anything goes wrong in any manufacturing in the company, or we get customer failures that came back because we screwed up something, I am called in to investigate to see what went wrong, what do we have to do to fix the problem and what do we have to do from letting it happen again.

I am also the person primarily responsible for writing procedures, reviewing procedures or helping people write procedures. Since we have implemented a new computer system which pretty much runs all our processes, there are A LOT of procedures that have to be written, in every department.

Therefore, 189% of my life is dealing with adversity. So maybe you can understand why things get to me sometime.

Wait! 189% can't be right. Well, you get the idea. Almost my entire life is spent dealing with problems. It gets to me sometimes. I guess my drunken post yesterday, was just my way of venting to my friends. Thanks for listening. I appreciate it. I really do.

DISCLAIMER!!!!!!

The following post is from a guy that has had a lot to drink tonight. I'm not feeling to good emotionally this evening and just wanted to get something off my chest.

Can you keep a secret? You better or don't read this!

Promise you won't tell anyone?

Promise?

If you can't promise, leave the fuck right now! Got it?

So, what the fuck is wrong with me? All it seem to do is cry at TV shows and shit. WTF is wrong with me? Arrrgggg!

I know my wife is sick and all, but she has been sick for over two fucking years now. So you would figure I would be used to it by now. Right? Right?

WTF is going on!!!!

At first I figured that her illness is what is causing me to act this way, but now I just don't fucking know. Like last night. I watched that Extreme Home Makeover show. The one where the couple adopted a lot of unadoptable kid and they built the family a new house for them. I balled my fucking eyes out watching that one.

Then tonight, I watched the one where they swap wives. Not that way asshole.! Geeze!!!@!@

The one where the slob changed families with the neat freak. It worked out really well for both families. That made me so, so happy, so what the fuck did I do? I fucking cried. Cried my fucking eyes out!

I felt really, really good after a good cry. Why the fuck am I telling you this? I know, you have all become my friends, my real friends.

Our regular friends have deserted us. Our families have done the same. No one comes to visit us anymore, so you are about all that we have left.

How fucking pathetic is that? How fucking pathetic is that?

I'm Sorry...

...I really am, but today I must have gotten 5 or 6 bazillion spam comments, so today I am adding that spam blocker thingy. What can I say other than, "Do they really think this works?"

Is It Thursday Already?

This week I wanted to show you I'm not just another pretty face. I can clean, do laundry, sew even, fixed about anything, give great oral and "surprise, surprise" I can cook too.

I know, I know, you ask how can a guy with so much else to offer be able to cook? I don't know, just lucky I guess. Truthfully, I'm blessed with abilities beyond my, or your, comprehension. I don't question it, I just go with the flow, so you shouldn't question it either.

Well, anyway, this week I thought I would give you a couple of pictures of me at my best, cooking. The first one gives you a hint at what makes my cooking so special, and the second, well, it's a shot of my........hehehehe. Please try to control your self.

Note: I only wear the apron when I'm nekkid because I don't want to spatter on my Charlie. Yeah, I have a name for mine, don't you have a name for yours?

This is crazy!

I found this on Hot Momma Drama's blog. Someone auctioned off half a bottle of water on eBay, that Britney Spears drank from, and got $495. 80 idiots placed bids. Click here for the link to eBay.

OUR AUCTION IS SIMPLE. MY BEST FRIEND WORKS AT UCLA MEDICAL CENTER IN L.A. HE WAS SO EXCITED TO TELL ME THAT HE GOT BRITANY'S HALF CONSUMED BOTTLED WATER AFTER SHE WAS ADMITTED TO THE HOSPITAL. SHE LEFT IT RIGHT ON THE COUNTER WHERE HE WAS WATCHING THE POP DIVA GET ADMITTED. AFTER SHE WAS TAKEN INTO HER SURGERY ROOM, HE DECIDED WHY NOT GRAB THE WATER BOTTLE! SO HE DID. THE REST IS HISTORY! WE NOW OWN A HALF CONSUMED BOTTLED WATER THAT HAS TOUCHED THE POP DIVA'S LIPS. AFTER HOURS OF LAUGHING ABOUT IT AND DECIDING WHAT TO DO WITH IT, WE HAVE DECIDED TO SELL THE WATER BOTTLE ON EBAY. I MEAN IT WAS GOING TO END UP IN THE TRASH ANYWAY! SO WHY NOT LET A HUGE FAN BUY IT. GOODLUCK BIDDING.
