24 years ago......

...... I had an in the ground swimming pool installed. I did everything legal with a permit and everything. Who knew that 24 years later I'd find out that in those 24 years the rules would change and the town would require that I get a variance to replace what was approved by them those 24 years ago? Tonight was my variance hearing.

I arrived at town hall 45 minutes early to be sure I was on time. I met a woman that was renewing a permit for a mother-daughter house. Her permit wasn't to build a house, but to renew a permit that MUST be renewed every three years forever and ever and ever every three years. WTF is that all about? Does that mean once her 94 year old mother dies that she will no longer allowed a permit? WTF do they expect her to do then? Tear the house down? I just don't get it.

My turn finally came to face the powers that be. The leader of the review board read the verbiage from my application.

Permission to blah, blah, blah, replace what was done 24 years ago when there were no rules covering this.

The board called someone from the zoning department up to speak. She explained how my pool was in violation. I mentioned that this was installed in 1984 and the town inspector even checked it out and said it was okay. The leader said that since there were no rules 30 years ago 24 years ago but no way I was going to correct him and to make me bring this up to today's code would require me to tear everything down and move my pool, he recommended that they forget the whole thing and approve the variance.

"All in favor say Aye!"

"Aye, aye, aye, aye, aye."

"Motion granted!"

They all even wished me a good night.

I got my variance and I'm a happy camper.

Weekend Update!

I took a shower. That is all.

But today was a big day! I decided to go to the doctor for a prescription for the vertigo. It's a lot better, but too irritating to let it go away on it's own. All of my medical care is handled by the Veterans Administration now at no cost to me, but I didn't think it wise to drive myself the 45 minutes to the VA hospital emergency room with the vertigo. So I decided to drive the one mile to the local walk-in clinic instead.

It took 2 1/2 hours to get the prescription that I told the doctor I needed and have taken the other three times I had the vertigo. That cost me $100 due to my lack of medical insurance and not wanting to risk killing myself and others driving to the VA there and back. I made out with the meds though as they cost just $20.

I HATE THIS SHIT!

I have vertigo again for the fourth time! Specifically benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. Last night I rolled over and the room violently spinning around me. At least that's what it feels like. The feeling last anywhere from 5-20 seconds. I've had a lot of experience with the vertigo, so know what I can and cannot do. It only happens while I'm turning my head when it is facing the ceiling, so I roll over on my stomach because it doesn't happen then. It doesn't happen when I'm standing or sitting. I just have to be careful and not make sharp, sudden movements with my head. Each time I've had it before I went to the doctor and he gave me a prescription which didn't do shit. So this time I'm just going to wait it out.

I'm sorry Libby, ......

...... but I've been busy.

Thursday Lori came over after work on and we went out to dinner, then snuggled.

Friday we stayed in, had pizza for dinner. Then we got busy with you know, three time. Okay, I woke her up twice during the night to play. FYI-No, I'm not able to do IT three times a night anymore, but I like to make sure my baby has her's as many times as she wants. If you get my drift. ;-)

Saturday we went out east. We stopped by the aquarium Lori works at so she could meet her biggest client. Worth the meet & greet, because the lady tipped Lori $75. Then we drove farther east and stopped at a general store so Lori could spend the gift certificate she won at the pig roast in June. Then we drove even farther east and stopped at The Old Barge for about the best seafood dinner I've had in years. Then we drove about as far east as we could before running out of land, so Lori could check out her old stomping grounds in Greenport. Finally we went back to my place.

Sunday we went to the West Islip Country Fair to watch Melissa sing a set. She was terrific as always. Not to brag or anything, but she loves us. I tell Lori she really loves me and must have an Old Guy fetish, but she has to say she loves her too, so Lori will let me go see her.

You want proof that she loves me? Here's the MySpace message I received from Melissa later that evening.

Sep 21, 2008 8:11 PM

Wow!! You are GREAT!!!! Thanks for coming out today. You're the best. You and Lori are GREATTTTTTTT! Thanks again soooooooooo very, very much for ALL your support Tony.
Your friend in "real life"
Much love
Melissa Ann xoxo

See, I told you she loved me best. :-)

During her set Melissa saw me and waved. Aren't I special? LOL Then her manager Johnny saw us and came over to say hello. Lori got a kiss, but all I got was a hand shake. Guess Johnny is into chicks. Thank goodness!

Here's the proof!

:-P

I can't wait until she makes it big. Johnny said that we were invited to travel with them and ride on the tour bus when she gets one. I'm not holding my breath, but wouldn't that be cool to do that?

I might even get my own groupies.

MEET MY NEW WEEKDAY GIRL FRIEND HNT!

Due to the constant risk of chafing when Lori isn't here, she hooked me up with a weekday girl friend named Gigi. Lori met Gigi at a sex toy party Lori hosted a few weeks ago. Gigi isn't all that pretty, quite ugly actually, but looks aren't eveything.

Meet Gigi.

Speaking of Gigi.

"HEY GIGI! YOU KNOW WHAT I LIKE!"

HAPPY HNT!

So far so good!

No chafing to report!

The weekend was long and mostly boring all alone. Except for a visit from Hanna Saturday night. She huffed and she puffed, but couldn't blow my house down, nor even a tree limb. She did drop a lot of water, which filled my pool, but I'll take that over having my house blown down any day.

Sunday morning Brian got home from Atlantic City at 10:30 AM! WTF? It's at least a three hour ride on a good day and it was a shock to see him so early. It seems him and his two friends he was staying with choose to stay the extra night and drive home in the morning. One guy is a BMX racer and had to be here for a race at 1:00. Of course they stayed up all night and slept all day everyday, so instead of going back to the room, they just drove home.

This weekend I was occupied for a couple of evenings chatting on line with a new friend of mine. She's going through a rough time right now after loosing her husband suddenly a few weeks ago and reached out to me support and advice. She has been reading my blog forever, but never posts on her blog and usually doesn't comment on mine, so I really didn't know her. She only knows me through my blog, but that was enough for her, so she took a chance and contacted me. I'm glad she did and very flattered that she trusts me, a relative perfect stranger. But we aren't strangers any longer. :-)

The Nudist Rules Are In Effect This Weekend!!!!!!

Brian went to Atlantic City for the weekend and won't be back until late Sunday. YAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!! That means we could run around naked, have sex in every room, mutually masturbate at will and watch all the porn we wanted with the volume above a whisper.

How cool is that? :-)

Normally I'd be VERY happy about that, but not this weekend so much. I will still run around naked, masturbate at will and watch porn with the volume above a whisper. But I will have to do it alone, because Lori is in Connetcuit visiting her family this weekend.

Wish me luck that I don't have a chafing issue this weekend.

Labor Day Extended Weekend Update

Thursday:
Lori had two teeth pulled by the oral surgeon. The appointment was at 2:00, but she didn't get in until 4:30. Waiting was freaking her out. Finally the doctor came and broke the news that a second tooth was bad and also had to be removed.

She was not a happy camper.

Here's the bad boy that was giving her a problem. Sorry, no picture of the second bad boy.

What, you can't see it that well?

Okay, then here's a close up.

Your welcome. :-)

The Novocaine wasn't taking effect very well, so she had to get seven needles altogether. OUCH! One tooth came right out, but the other had to be chiseled into pieces and removed bit by ever loving bit. That took even more time, so she didn't finally leave until 7:00!!!!

Then she came hobbling back to my place with a mouth full of bloody gauze. My poor, poor baby. :-(

What, you can't see the blood that well?

Then here's a close up for you.

Your welcome. :-)

I took care of my baby until she left on Tuesday. I'm good like that.

Friday:
More taking care of Lori, but that proved to be a challenge, because I was a little under the weather myself.

Saturday:
I was feeling better so we started the day off snuggling on the laptops. Hey, she had a sore mouth, not a sore coochy. It's not like I asked her to give me a BJ, was it?

You can bet that will be on the agenda the next time she is here, RIGHT LORI?

Today was Lori's daughter's birthday, so we met her and a bunch of her friends to celebrate at the Dublin Deck.

I would love to show you pictures from that night, but I promised that what happened at the Dublin Deck, stays at the Dublin Deck. :-D

Sunday:
Lori and I went to the Casino Restaurant & Bar at Davis Park on Fire Island. It's not a real casino, so I have no clue why they call it that.

Before you know it we were there. I was occupied, so the trip went quickly.

What?

One ferry arrives and one leaves.

Lori had never been there so I showed her what life is like in just one of the many small communities on Fire Island. First we walked the docks checking out the boats and boaters BBQ-ing and partying.

Then we walked down to the beach.

We were just checking out the scenery, looking for babes.

Found one! :-)

What?

Then we saw a couple of kids fighting. There were four adults not ten feet away watching until one kid started to get his ass kicked. Then one of the men got up and pulled the kid off of him. That was end end of the fight. Sorry, no pics of that.

It was almost 6:00, so we went up to the restaurant for dinner. Lori's been living on pudding, jello, ice cream and soup, so this was her first solid food for days. I had scallops and Lori had fish. It took her forever to eat because with one newly missing tooth on each side of her mouth, it made chewing with minimal pain very difficult.

After dinner we walked back down to the beach to check out the babes beach again. What beach? The tide had come in and was right up to the sand dunes. Three drunk adults were sitting on the life guard stand chilling and drinking their beers. Then they got down and waded out to their chairs and submerged blankets and clothes. LMAO! What dicks!

It was getting close to the time to catch the ferry back to the mainland by now, so we walked down to the docks to check out the boats one last time before we left. We walked around there for awhile then took a stroll on the boardwalk that meanders amongst the homes. Then it was one last pee before standing on the LONG, LONG, LONG line for the ferry.

BYE, BYE FIRE ISLAND!

I stopped at Carvel for Lori on the way home, because the cold makes her mouth feel better. We get the fat free. It's only 160 calories for four ounces and NO fat.

Monday:
Nothing special for today. Lori stayed in and rested while I went out to get some fresh fish for dinner; fresh local flounder. That's one of the best reasons for living near the water, fresh seafood year around.

Lori still had to eat soft food, so I made creamed spinach with the flounder Mojo de Ajo (hot garlic and onion dressing) for dinner, but she had to clean up. HEY! Cleaning up after dinner is her job. Mine is cooking and her's is cleaning. Besides, she had a sore mouth, not sore hands or feet. It's not like I asked her to give me a BJ, was it?

You can bet that will be on the agenda the next time she is here, RIGHT LORI? Just double checking. ;-)

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY HNT

I'm Defective HNT

Who'd a thunk it? I'm defective. I have high blood pressure. I told the doctors that it varies up and down, so they, he, decided to give me a 24-hour blood pressure monitor. He wanted to see what was up. So he gives me the monitor. He tells me that every hour on the hour the monitor will take my blood pressure.

That meant, day and night, this stupid blood pressure cuff would blow up and deflate. Around the clock. Interrupting my sleep. Hour upon hour. Around the fucking clock! That's right. Around the fucking clock. Interrupting my fucking sleep. Hour upon fucking hour. Around the fucking clock!

I already wake up at least 300 times a night due to my severe sleep apnea. I sure didn't need this.

I looked at the display each time the monitor went off. The top number varied from a high of 153 to a low of 113. See, I told them, him, that it varied.

Don't tell anyone, but the 153 was during my daily self-snuggling.

Anyway. Here I am trying to figure out the display during one of the tests. Yep, 153.

Hey, I'm naked! What else do you expect me to be doing when I'm naked. AND Lori is at work.. Now if she was here and I was naked, she'd be naked and we'd be ........ uh, snuggling.

Happy Defective HNT!

Sweet Melissa

Melissa is a young singer that lives not too far from me here on Long Island. Melissa's manager has been trying to spread the word about her singing and the one way he chose, was with a Melissa's music MySpace web page. Lori made Melissa a MySpace friend first and told me about her. I made her a friend too, not because she's a hot, sexy young women, okay, maybe that had a little bit to do with it, but because she sings country music. I really like country music.

We found out that Melissa was going to be singing at a local restaurant, Villa Monanco's, so I made dinner reservations and we went there for dinner Saturday night.

The waiter was very efficient and funny to boot.

We ordered and then Lori got up to take some pictures. Here I am impatiently waiting for dinner.

We split a salad with a little bit of cold antipasti mixed in. Not exactly fat free, but hey, we were on a date.

Lori forgot to take pictures of our main course before we ate them, but here's what's left after we finished eating.

I had veal marsalla with roasted potatoes and mixed veggies.

Okay, that wasn't fat free either, but get over it! Now stop bugging me about not eating 100% fat free!

Lori had shrimp Francaise over pasta. I think she liked it. LOL

With dinner complete, we waited for Melissa to start singing. While we waited, the man that set up for Melissa came over to our table and told us he thought he knew us from somewhere. Then asked us if it was from MySpace. I told him yes and he introduced himself as Melissa's manager, Johnny D.

Here's Johnny D and me.

I've been exchanging messages with Melissa and Johnny D for a month or more. She'd won a couple of big singing competitions, tried out for American Idol, sang at Villa Monaco's and also is singing next month at the place Lori works, the Atlantis Marine World aquarium.

Johnny D told us he recognized us from our pictures on MySpace so wanted to come by, introduce himself and thank us for coming to support Melissa. Lori and I joked that I must be famous, if he recognized me. LOL

Melissa finally came on and sang, sang like a professional and as good as anyone you've ever heard. That is, considering it was with a karaoke machine, a simple amp and a mic.

Here she is posing for Lori, showing off her sexy legs.

After her first set we introduced ourselves to her, so she knew we showed up like I said we would. Her mother took this picture of the three of us.

Johnny D came over a few times to chat, which peeked the wait staff's interest. Two of them came over to tell me how much they enjoyed her singing and asked if I knew her or was I a relative. I guess they thought I was a famous person too. LOL

We stayed until about 11:00 and really had a great time. She really is a terrific singer, which, IMO, has a future in music ahead of her. That is if she catches the right breaks or has someone with influence that takes a liking to her music.

Here's a short video Lori took of her singing to give you an idea of how well she sings.

FYI
Last week Melissa and Johnny D went to New Jersey so she could audition for American Idol. To bad, but she wasn't selected. The same day a girl Lori works with also went to try out. She was there for what seemed like forever and then finally got a call to audition. They did that in groups of four. She was in a group with two other girls and a nut dressed up in a stupid costume. The three girls sang well, but were rejected. The nut in the costume sang like shit and danced a stupid dance. Just plain made a fool of himself. He was picked to move to the next round and audition for the producers. I guess the best singer doesn't really win American Idol after all. Too bad. :-(

Easy Recipe for You

I went to the cardiologist this week and he wants me on a fat free diet, low in cholesterol. The BUM! But I know it's for my own good, so yesterday I stocked up on $199 of healthy crap, I mean food at the super market. Things like fruit, whole grain stuff, fat free stuff like cheese and milk. I even bought fat free cottage cheese with pineapple. I love it that way. That's one of the dinners my mom made for us when we were living in Jacksonville Florida. The $60 a week she made didn't go very far, so that and eggs or pancakes was our dinner very often.

Last night I had a craving for fish, so picked up a piece of fresh cod at the market. I didn't know how I was going to prepare it, but knew I'd figure out something. After I put away the groceries, I had an idea. I didn't used a recipe, just made it up as I went.

  1. First I made a gin & tonic, but you already knew that is always the first step when I cook.
  2. I wanted pasta, so put on a pot of water.
  3. While I waited for that to come to a boil I prepared the sauce.
  4. I put a little EVOO in the pan and sauteed a lot of garlic. I love garlic!
  5. Then I tossed in a handful of fresh basil from my Aero Garden. I cut it up with scissors.
  6. Then dumped in a can of chopped tomatoes (No Salt Added).
  7. and a small can of black olives.
  8. I would have added capers, but ran out darn it, so add 'em if you got 'em, about 1/2 tablespoon should do. But chop them first.
  9. Then I sprinkled it with oregano, no salt, but a little, no a lot, of fresh ground pepper.
  10. Covered and lowered to medium.
  11. By now the water was boiling, so I tossed in the pasta. Note: Put a table spoon or two of EVOO in the water, because it helps to keep the water from boiling over for some reason. It has something to do with surface tension of the water. I saw the tip on the Food Network, I think it was Alton Brown.
  12. Next I placed the fresh cod in the pan with the sauce. I spooned some of the sauce over the cod and covered the pan until the fish was flaky, about ten minutes turning once after about 5 minutes and lowered it to simmer.
  13. The pasta was done after ten minutes and so was the fish.
  14. I plated the pasta.
  15. Then gently removed the cod from the pan with a spatula and placed it on the pasta.
  16. Then I spooned the sauce over top of that.
  17. The finally sprinkled it with some Romano cheese. No the cheese isn't fat free, but it was only a little and just for taste.
I made a salad too, with fat free thousand island dressing.

It was really good and I highly recommend it! Let me know if you make it and how it was. I'd also like to know if you didn't like it or if you can suggest any changes. One can always use some pointers.

Have a Great Weekend!

An Icy HNT!

Lori co-hosted a sex toy party at her house last night. I was put in charge of making ice for the party. What, may you ask, is such a big deal about making ice? Let me show you.

I still have the ice cube tray. Want me to make some for you?

HAPPY ICY HNT!

Lets see, where do I start?

I know, I'll start with last Wednesday! Lori came over after work and we went out for all-you-can-eat-snow-crab-legs. Dinner was great as always and we saw our new favorite bartender, Liz. We didn't stay like we usually do, but that was fine, Lori was staying with me the rest of the week, so that made up for it.

Thursday, what happened Thursday? Oh ya, we had pizza for dinner, snuggled and then watched the Olympics. How about that Michael Phelps? Then there is the women's gymnastics, women's beach volleyball, women's team volleyball, women's diving, women's track and field and any other women's events there are. How about those women, huh?

Friday Patchogue was holding it last shut-down-main-street street fair for the season. We met up with Lori's son, his girl friend and her three kids (the one's we baby sat for), Lori's daughter Beth and our friend Anne Marie and two of her kids. We all had a lot of fun! The first stop was the Brick House Brewery for a beer and then we walked around. I bought a few things here and there and had another beer or two. We said our goodbyes and then Lori, me, Anne Marie and two of her kids went back to Popei's for a snack, which is where Lori and I were on Wednesday.

Saturday Lori and I started the day as usual and then just hung out and stayed in bed on our laptops the rest of the day. We were suppoed to run a bunch of errands, but shit happens!

Sunday we spent the day doing a lot of running around. Wednesday Lori and a friend she works with are hosting a sex toy party at Lori's place and there were things to buy for that. I cooked dinner that night. BBQ'd brats, baked beans, fresh tomato salad, fresh corn on the cob and chips. Excellent if I do say so myself.

That brings me to today, Monday. I spent a good portion of the day running errands.
*First I went to Staples and made some copies of paper work I needed for my variance.
*Then I went to the bank to get some papers notarized.
*Then I went to town hall with all the paperwork to be told they couldn't accept it, because the notary didn't sign the papers, just stamped them.
*Then it was back to bank to get notary to sign papers.
*Then it was back to town hall where everything was in order, BUT they needed a $125 fee (no one ever told me that and it wasn't on anything I read)I gave the lady last of my money (Ewwwwwwwwww, just had enough!)
*Then I drove a 1/2 hour to the guy making my vanity top for the half bath. I dropped off the sink and two more that he was kind enough to offer to sell for me. marble guy and gave them the sinks (will call tomorrow with delivery date, but will be soon).
*Then finally back home!
